Artist Statement
I am an interdisciplinary artist and image-maker from the San Francisco Bay Area in California, and currently studying in Paris, France.
My body of work is centered around exploring personal identity as a disabled woman, through memory and the family archive. Working with both analog and digital photography, I primarily employ the cyanotype process to convey this exploration. There is a dichotomy between the memory and the cyanotype process that I find particularly interesting, as memory is brought from the dark back to the forefront of our minds - the light - while cyanotypes need to be placed in the dark to be revived, as the light causes prints to fade over time.
