Drifting Into Slumber
Cyanotype on fabric, 19 x 23 inches, 2023
This artwork was made to depict how different memories appear in our minds as we drift to sleep, using a photogram self-portrait as an impression for a woman sleeping. As our memories float around at the end of a day, they fade into the back of our minds as we begin to rest.
Gaze
Cyanotype on watercolour paper, 2024
Photograph taken from a lover’s bedroom in the early morning, depicting the heart when it is at ease and we are able to pause at the environment around us, mesmerized by the calm and tenderness in the lack of noise.
Silently Longing (with text), 2024
Silently Longing, 2024
10 x 13 3/8 inches, cyanotype on watercolour paper, 2024
11 1/2 x 15 inches, cyanotype on watercolour paper, embroidery, 2024
There is a loneliness in the empty bed space, and impression of where someone used to be. At times, the silence in the longing can be so overwhelming on the inside that it can be too painful to even speak aloud to yourself, and even more so to others - because the one person that you want to share it with the most is no longer there.
Serene Silence
13 1/2 x 9 1/4 x inches, cyanotype on watercolour paper, 2024
Capturing the beauty of silence - something that we desperately need but often overlook - and the feeling of how memories begin to play in our minds like an old film.
Golden Waves, 2020
The goal for this work was to experiment with a new toning technique using liquid watercolour, taking into consideration the layering and how it interacts with the image. This was to give a sense of calmness and eeriness, recalling the sights and sounds of the ocean for the viewer.
Space Man / Distant
Cyanotype diptych, cyanotype on watercolour paper and fabric, liquid watercolour, lace, embroidery, 2019-2022
Presenting the two sides of an intimate relationship: the early stage of love and tenderness, and the end of the relationship when a person is trying to heal their emotional wounds. Both depicting the same photograph, they are to show one intimate, quiet moment and how it can be represented with care for both lovers: the subject and the artist.
